Córdoba´s splendour goes back to its time as capital city of a Roman province, when it had as many leisure buildings as Rome, and was the birthplace of great philosophers and speakers such as Seneca. It reached its zenith as capital city during the Omeya Caliphate, with a population between 250,000 and 500,000 inhabitants, becoming a great cultural, political and economic centre in the 10th Century. Its famous Mosque dates from this period.
Nowadays it is one of the most beautiful and best preserved cities in Spain and has a very high quality of life. Its historic centre is one of the biggest in the world and has been declared World Heritage by Unesco.
We will walk around the city and visit the Mosque, the Sinagogue and the Jewish quarter, discovering on our way squares, patios, churches, convents and palaces.
