Malaca Instituto - Spanish Courses

Even those who know about the concept of studying a language in a language school in the country where the language is spoken still probably think that language schools are exclusively for young people at high school or college age.

How wrong they are! At Malaca Instituto (a language school in Malaga, Andalucia on the Mediterranean coast of southern Spain) the average age of our students is 27 and you are as likely to meet a 25-30 year old business executive as an 18-20 year old student. You will also frequently find diplomats, teachers, and retired people (a 91 year-old has been in the school and loved it!). Furthermore they come from all over the world.

To satisfy the differing needs of such a wide range of people and backgrounds we offer an equally wide range of courses so that each potential client can select the programme that best suits their requirements. The following are a few examples from our range:

Master Class: a programme of very practical Spanish for retired people who want enough Spanish for everyday situations to better enjoy a holiday or retirement in a Spanish speaking country. The lessons are combined with a programme of cultural and social activities including cookery lessons, museum and gallery visits, walking in the hills etc. Its a 2 week programme offered in the Spring, early summer and Autumn.

Spanish and Cookery: A combination of our standard Intensive Course with cookery lessons and talks and visits related to gastronomy and wines. Ideal for the bon-viveurs, cooking enthusiasts of all ages who want to find out more about recipes from the Andalucian variant of the Mediterranean diet.

Spanish and Dance: For the dance enthusiast. We have combined our Intensive Course with 2 lessons per day of either Sevillanas (Introduction to Flamenco) or Salsa in our beautiful dance studio. This is currently our fastest growing programme!

University Entrance (Selectividad): It is well known that students from all over the world travel to English-speaking countries to study for university degrees. It is less known that they also do the same in Germany and France and have just started to do so in Spain. We offer one of the few access routes into Spanish university for overseas students.

One-to-One, individual tuition courses are especial suitable for diplomats and top executives, the Summer Course for young adults takes into account the interests of the 16-20 year age group and our Intensive Courses are suitable for people of any age wanting to improve their general abilities in Spanish.

The opportunity to get to know other like minded people from all over the world and at the same time get to know Spanish customs and way of life makes this type of learning experience one of the most interesting and exciting available.
