Teaching Structure & Levels Bookmark and Share

Our teachers are organised in teams and on our standard courses you will be taught by up to 6 different teachers in a 2 week course. This is to ensure that you hear different accents, see different teaching styles and encounter different personalities – this helps to ensure that our programmes are never boring.

This structure requires of us a great deal or organisation and a lot of discipline on the part of the teachers in making sure they teach what is scheduled and communicate the results to the next teacher.

The feedback from our students continually confirms that this system works!

Levels

On the first day of each course all our new students take a level test. This is to ensure that you will study with other students at the same level of Spanish. Even complete beginners take the test as some people who have never studied Spanish will understand more than others due to their linguistic-cultural background.

As our students progress at different speeds (according to their linguistic abilities, dedication to their studies etc) we monitor their levels each week. At the end of each course level the students must take an exam which they have to pass to go on to the next level. Certificates of Linguistic Competence are awarded based on the results.

The number of levels offered depends very much on the type of course you choose. The most general courses (Intensive and Super Intensive Course) have the widest range as they offer the opportunity for anyone from complete beginner to the most advanced to study at their particular level and to start every week (beginners each 2 weeks). Other courses such as Selectividad or Hispanic Studies have specific entry requirements.

Level Test (Level Test - PDF)

As some of our courses require a specific level of Spanish, some students are required to take a level test at the time of enrolment. You might like to save time by completing the test and sending it to us with your application.

The range of levels available for each type of course is as follows:
