Academic Credit
Malaca Instituto receives around 2500 students per year of whom about 8% are from the US. The great majority of the latter gain academic credit from their home universities or colleges for their studies at Malaca Instituto. They have come from academic institutions such as Duke, Santa Barbara , Arkansas State, St Thomas (Minnesota), Eastern Illinois, Dayton University... etc.
In other words many American colleges and universities have inspected our programmes and are prepared to award credit for our courses.
Whether you are studying at University or Community College, please ask the academic authorities whether they will award credit for studying at Malaca Instituto. They may contact us for additional academic information they may require.
Courses for Academic credit:
The courses which our US University and College students tend to prefer are the following:
- Pre-sessional: General Intensive courses taken for 3 or 4 weeks in January or September before the start of the semester. Spanish Intensive Course
- Summer courses: May through July is a very popular time for College students to come for 4 -8 weeks of Intensive Spanish. Making the most of their vacations they make substantial progress. Spanish Intensive Course
Non-credit courses

Study for a degree in Spain
US students, like all others, can choose to study in Spain if you meet the academic and other criteria.
In Spain you will find ancient and modern universities offering a wide range of internationally recognised Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses at prices you will not believe!
If you want to study in Spain at a Spanish university you need to speak Spanish fluently. Malaca Instituto has a specific preparation course for overseas students wanting to enter Undergraduate Degrees and also can prepare students linguistically if they want to do a post-graduate programme. As long as you study at least 4 months of Spanish with us we will help with the paperwork for University Entrance.
