COURSES FOR TEACHERS WHOSE NATIVE LANGUAGE IS NOT SPANISH
We currently provide the following 2 courses for non-native speaking teachers:
• Spanish Advanced for Teachers of Spanish.
• Spanish Intensive 24 + 5 Methodology lessons (group).
If you are a teacher or staff member of a school or other educational centre in Europe you may well be able to get your course at Malaca Instituto totally paid for by the Erasmus+ fund
Spanish ADVANCED FOR TEACHERS of Spanish
30 lessons per week: 20 lessons of Advanced Spanish and 10 lessons of Teaching Methodology, 50 minutes per lesson.
• Class times: Advanced 8:30- 12:30 h. Methodology 12:40- 14:30 h.
• Duration: 1 or 2 weeks.
This is a refresher course for existing teachers of Spanish. It is a combination of Advanced Spanish (entry level B2 completed) and Spanish teaching methodology. The course currently takes place once a year in July.
The aim is to perfect the Spanish language skills of the participants and to create a forum for the debate and interchange of experiences, Ideas and techniques and thus refresh and motivate the participating teachers.
In the methodology lessons our trainers are leaders and facilitators and will always expect a high level of participation and in-put from the overseas teachers. The methodology classes will take the form of workshops, presentations and debates.
Typical programme
Spanish INTENSIVE 24 + 5 Methodology lessons (group)
29 lessons per week: 20 lessons of Intensive Spanish, 4 lessons of “Dímelo” and 5 lessons of Teaching Methodology, 50 minutes per lesson.
• Class times: Intensive 8:30- 12:30 h. “Dímelo” 12:40- 14:30 h.
• Methodology 12:40- 14:30 h.
• Duration: 1-2 weeks.
This programme is usually valid for Erasmus+ funding for eligible teachers employed in the EU.
It is aimed at any teacher, whether a teacher of Spanish or of other subjects, who has at least an A2 level of Spanish and wants to improve their level of Spanish and refresh or
gain teaching skills in Spanish for teaching Spanish.
Typical clients for this programme are teachers of other languages wanting to be more flexible and to be able to teach Spanish or teachers in bi-lingual schools where other subjects are being (or will be) taught in Spanish.
Each participant is tested on the first day and placed in an Intensive Spanish class at the appropriate level. In addition there are 4 “Dimelo” classes in a mini-group format, which concentrate on oral communication skills.
This course can be taken on any week, making it extremely flexible and not requiring that the teacher should necessarily do the programme in their vacation.
